Based in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium, leaving the role in June 2026. He joined the Royal Navy in 1984 and qualified as a helicopter pilot and instructor. Commanding three warships, including the helicopter carrier HMS OCEAN.
Staff Positions held:
Sir Keith has a MA in Defence Studies. Honorary Doctorate from the University of Plymouth. Many national awards including Operational Legion of Merit from the President of the United States. He was Knighted in 2023. Leaving the Royal Navy in June 2026 he now holds various senior advisor positions at Board level through his consultancy company, Flagstaff Defence.
He is married to Lady Deborah Blount, they have two daughters.
